The Fairy Realm is magic. Its peoples, its creatures, its flora and fauna are constructed of magic down to the smallest particles.
Enchanted living gems grow on trees, fairies and pixies fly and sparkle and enchant, giants tend ruby orchards, enormous fish talk, and countless sapient races live side by side in relative harmony. Magical creatures great and small, some cuddly and some terrifying, roam free.
A day’s flight, or hike, sweeps past dramatic waterfalls, lush primeval forests, deep unknowable canyons, glades of towering blooms in all colors of the rainbow, and fields of mushrooms as tall as redwoods, all framed on the horizon by mountains whose jagged peaks scrape the clouds. These lands are dangerous and wonderous, full of adventure, light, and darkness, and all in balance.
Despite its majestic scenery and abundant magical life, the Fairy Realm is infected with a great evil. From time before memory, that evil was contained in one region, the Cimmerian realm. For thousands of years, the people of the Fairy Realm have fought to keep that evil contained, but that attempt now falters. The evil seeps into other realms, such as the adjacent Spicewood realm, poisoning the very spirit of the land. If its spread is left unchecked, that evil will contaminate everything and destroy all life. The great evil yearns to eliminate all life and light from both the Fairy Realm and the human world across the rift.
The Fairy Realm is vast, and encompasses tens of thousands of regions, each also called a realm. The Manwan Fairies center around the realm of Roan, which houses the capital of Roan, where the palace resides. Some of the other named regions are the Wisen realm and the Woodland realm.
And you know all those fairy tales you heard while growing up? … All true.
